Our team members are skilled in the essential relationship building that brings out the best in a diverse array of students. The student-staff member relationship makes it possible for us to properly evaluate student progress, promote educational development and assist students to climb to greater heights of achievement and responsibility for their own education.

Qualifications

Our staff includes a variety of professional tutors as well as specialists from the fields of learning disabilities, educational psychology and educational therapy. All of QWERTY’s core service providers have advanced degrees and all are experienced in working with students with a diversity of needs ranging from mastery of content to the development of techniques to compensate for obstacles to learning. We all share a common passion to educate and mentor. More importantly, all team members demonstrate the ability to continually assess students’ immediate needs and adjust to changing requirements, while simultaneously developing longer-term strategies.

Collaboration

When a student comes to QWERTY, though he or she is typically working with only one or sometimes two of our staff, in actuality, the expertise and experiences of several staff members often influences the techniques we employ and the choices we make. As a student’s needs change over time, we often rely on our collaborative strength to determine appropriate next steps. This may involve a student working with more than one staff member, or transitioning the student to a different staff professional who can more effectively meet their needs.

Communication

QWERTY staff members regularly communicate with parents and in many cases, speak and work regularly with teachers, counselors and other health professionals. Coordinating what are sometimes challenging topics for discussion involving several parties requires sound judgment and communication skills as well as an intimate understanding of everyone’s roles in helping students achieve their goals.
